Building a stronger workforce takes collaboration. ⚡

Shawn Bell, Workforce Development Director, recently participated in a panel at “Workforce Strategies for a Thriving Region,” hosted by NorthWest Arkansas Community College.

During the discussion, he shared how the Multi-User Silicon Carbide Research and Fabrication Laboratory (MUSiC) is creating new opportunities in semiconductor research, and how our workforce courses are helping prepare individuals for careers in growing technical fields.

The session also opened the door for great questions from the audience, highlighting the strong interest in accessible pathways into tech careers. 💡

Breaking the myth that there’s only one path into STEM. ⚡

Shawn Bell recently visited LISA Academy to share how students can build successful careers in STEM with or without a traditional four-year degree.

Through our workforce development efforts, we’re helping students see that curiosity, hands-on learning, and a willingness to try something new can open doors to careers in tech and engineering. 💡

You don’t have to have everything figured out—and math doesn’t have to be your strongest subject to get started.

It all begins with curiosity.

What is a semiconductor? 🤔⚡

Semiconductors are the tiny materials that power the technology you use every day, from your phone and laptop to cars and gaming systems.

They make it possible to control electricity, which is what allows devices to run faster, smarter, and more efficiently.

And here’s the exciting part—careers in semiconductors are growing fast, with opportunities in engineering, manufacturing, and tech right here in Arkansas. 💡

It all starts with understanding the basics.
