121 dual-enrolled students began their classes at Blue Ridge’s Transylvania County Campus (TCC) last week. Eligible high school students can participate in North Carolina’s dual enrollment program, Career and College Promise (CCP), and take college-level courses tuition-free.

“Taking free classes at Blue Ridge has provided me with an incredible opportunity,” Fox said. “I will graduate high school at 18 with an associate degree, which will transfer to a four-year university. Serving as secretary for SGA has also allowed me to become more involved at Blue Ridge.”

A team of four Blue Ridge Community College employees honored a local law enforcement hero and Blue Ridge alum on Sept. 2, 2026, by participating in the annual Ryan Hendrix Memorial Golf Tournament. While the team claimed first place, the real reward was honoring the memory of Deputy Ryan P. Hendrix of the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office, who was killed in the line of duty on Sept. 10, 2020.

Deputy Hendrix graduated from Blue Ridge’s Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) program in 2015. In Fall 2020, the College’s Educational Foundation established a scholarship in his honor.

🍎 The 80th North Carolina Apple Festival is underway!

Our Blue Ridge Community College team members had a great time seeing and serving alongside our friends in the community at the annual Kiwanis Club of Hendersonville Pancake Breakfast at First United Methodist Church of Hendersonville — a longtime tradition that helps kick off Apple Festival weekend.

With an estimated 250,000 visitors expected in Hendersonville through Labor Day, it’s an exciting weekend for our community! We’re proud to be part of this community and to celebrate the traditions, people and agricultural heritage that make Hendersonville and our region so special. 🍎
