Marian E. Wright Writing Center Saving the world, one paragraph at a time! The Writing Center is a place where students can come to get help with writing.

Our tutors are primarily students at UM-Flint who want to help others become more confident writers. Through collaboration and discussion, tutors can help students identify areas in their writing that can be strengthened. We work with students, faculty, and staff from a variety of disciplines on many different types of writing. We work with brainstorming, drafting, revising, editing, and citing--w

herever you are in the process. In addition, we have speaking services to help students with presentations and public speaking.

TONIGHT!!!

The Writing Center is Hosting A Write-In

Starting at 6:00 PM, stop by the Center to have a warm drink, a light snack, and to work on some writing! Instead of traditional appointments, you can settle in to work on your own, and then ask any available tutor for a hand as you run into trouble or just need a boost of late-night motivation.

If you can't make it to campus in person, don't despair! We will also have online tutors available until 2:00 AM, April 15th, for similar drop-in appointments.

Hey UM-Flint Students!

Interested in becoming a Writing Center tutor? We're hiring! We're looking for candidates who enjoy writing and working with others on writing.

Reasons to become a Writing Tutor:

-Develop professional skills
-Get excellent work experience
-Work around your class schedule
-Work with a great team
-Earn 15 dollars an hour

We are looking for applicants currently enrolled at the University of Michigan on the Flint Campus. This is an on-site position with on-the-job training. We look forward to reading your application. Must have a resume, cover letter, and a sample of up to 5 pages of your academic writing.

This has been one for our memory books!

Thank you so much to those who stopped by our table in the UCEN, and thank you to everyone who gave today. The Marian E. Wright Writing Center is more than a department; it is an inclusive, welcoming community of writers that is open to all.

The support we received this Giving Blue Day will allow us to continue to run community programs, train tutors, and provide essential supplies. We are so grateful to everyone who donated or shared. It means the world to us to see how much people care about the space we've made and the services we provide.
