B-Section Kettering Lambda Chi Alpha

B-Section Kettering Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity based on the ideals of 7 core values creating LeaDeRSHIP: Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Service & Stewardship, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage.

Loyalty-Establishes the correct order of our obligations and commitments. Unswerving allegiance to the organization and its laws, ideals, and defining principles prevents us from misplacing our loyalties. Duty-Delineates the sum total of all laws, rules, and customs that make up our organizational, civic, and moral obligations. Our values originate with duty because we expect individuals, as a min

imum, to fulfill their obligations. We often expect individuals to exceed their duty, especially in ethical matters. Respect-Denotes the regard and recognition of the absolute dignity that every human possesses. Specifically, respect indicates compassion for and consideration of others, including sensitivity to and regard for the feelings and needs of others. Service & Stewardship-Service before self signifies the proper ordering of priorities. The welfare of the organization comes before the individual's. While the focus is on service to Lambda Chi Alpha and broader communities, the idea also incorporates the concept of stewardship, of holding something of value in trust for others. Honor-Describes the complex of all values that make up the public code of the individual. Significantly, honor provides the motive for action and demands adherence to a public moral code, not protection of reputation. Integrity-Encompasses the sum total of a person's set of values - his private moral code. A breach of any of these values will damage the individual's integrity. Integrity, closely related to the word integer, refers to a notion of completeness or wholeness. Personal Courage-Depicts the premier virtue that enables us to persevere despite fear, danger, or adversity. Personal courage includes the notion of taking responsibility for decisions and actions. Additionally, it involves the ability to perform critical self-assessment, to confront new ideas and to change.

Family, Friends, Bid Acceptors, Associate Members, Brothers and Alumni,

It is with a heavy heart today that we announce the passing of one of our Bid Acceptors, Isaac Roebuck, of Sand Lake, Michigan.

He passed away unexpectedly on January 10th, 2020 at the age of 18. He was a lover of the Boy Scouts, cars, engineering, and his family and friends. Isaac was memorable for many reasons. Maybe you remember him for his love of all things engineering, maybe for his kindness and care for others, maybe it was for his level headedness and forward thinking, maybe it was for his boisterous laugh that filled the entire room. Along with those memorable things, we remember Isaac the most for his fulfillment of our seven core values:

Loyalty
Duty
Respect
Service and Stewardship
Honor
Integrity
Personal Courage

We looked forward to him joining our Brotherhood, helping him grow, learn, and fulfill his academic and professional goals as he would have helped us. We will miss Isaac, but will not forget him. We pray for him and his family, as they mourn the loss of their son, and we pray for his friends as they mourn the loss of a powerful relationship. We will pray for one another as we mourn the loss of a true friend.

Funeral services will be held today, January 16, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. located at City Church Rockford, in Rockford, Michigan. More information can be found here: https://everloved.com/life-of/isaac-roebuck/

Rest In Peace, Isaac.

Forever in ZAX,

The Brothers Lambda Chi Alpha, Lambda Epsilon B

Our house stands with Kettering University's Beta Theta Pi chapter as they mourn the loss of one of their Brothers, Paul Cichon. Paul passed away on October 22, 2019 and will be missed deeply by our community and his family. Due to the small school population, many of our Brothers interacted with Paul on a day-to-day basis, whether it was sharing classes, working together on projects, or sharing ideas in various clubs. Paul had a profound impact and gentle heart with everyone he met. We grieve with our campus fraternity brothers and our peers. Rest easy, Paul.

[Forever in ___kai___] As family, friends and Delta Eta Chapter brothers gathered to memorialize his life, the Fraternity grieves the unexpected passing due to su***de of Paul Erwin Cichon, Kettering B ’21. Described by his family as an avid fisherman who loved the outdoors, especially northern Michigan, Paul will be remembered for his passion and kind heart.

Paul is survived by his parents, Heather and Paul, and three brothers, Brandon (Shannon) Rhome, Benjamin and Matthew.

Consistent with Fraternity protocol, flags at the Administrative Office in Oxford have been lowered to half-staff and will remain so for the next eight days – representative of the eight young men of Paul’s same age who founded the Fraternity on August 8, 1839, "of ever honored memory." Beta chapters across North America with flag poles are encouraged to do the same.

Likewise, pink and blue flowers were delivered on behalf of all Betas to Paul’s memorial service, which was held Saturday, October 26, at 7:00 p.m. at Dryer Funeral Home in Holly, Michigan.

Uniting in thoughts and prayers as the Cichon family grieves their incredible loss, all 142 chapters and colonies are encouraged to conduct Beta's official Burial Service in Paul’s memory at this week's upcoming chapter meeting.

May Brother Paul Cichon, Roll No. 915 on the official roll of the Delta Eta Chapter of Beta Theta Pi, rest in peace. Forever in ___kai___.
