In 1888, before they could even vote, the women of Flint formed the Garland St. Literary Club as a forum for learning, teaching, collaboration, and community building. For over 137 years, this club has modeled how civil discourse and creative connection help us thrive.

Join us on Thursday, Nov 6th, at 2:15-3:30, during the Cracks in the Pavement Symposium at UM-Flint, for a lively exploration of this club and how civic clubs like it might be the key to revitalizing and reconnecting our communities.
