It was a chilly night but the sun was shining on the range for Carroll County 4-H’ers! 🎯

We are very grateful for the volunteers that help coordinate this unique project for youth to learn!

New in 2026! 4-H Exhibitors are REQUIRED to clean out their pens before leaving the fairgrounds.

ATTENTION BEEF AND DAIRY EXHIBITORS: Separate trash from mulch and straw.

ATTENTION ALL OTHER SPECIES: Remove trash from bedding and completely clean out the pen.

*Be prepared and bring your own supplies. Must be kept on the trailer until move-out.*

The Purdue Extension Carroll County office is closed today, May 5th. Purdue Educators are still available via email, otherwise you can leave a message on our machine as we will be resuming normal hours at 8AM tomorrow, May 6th.

“𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲’𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀, 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀?” – 𝘔𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘯 𝘓𝘶𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘒𝘪𝘯𝘨, 𝘑𝘳.

Scott Baker, Carroll County 4-H Volunteer, club leader, and project leader provided an opportunity for youth from Carroll, Cass, and Miami county to share information, ideas, and interest in scale model projects. It was rewarding watching kids leave smiling, being thankful, and sharing amusement around tractor color preferences and how they incorporate that into their designs!

4-H livestock exhibitors!

Gear up for the upcoming Livestock Showmanship clinic hosted by the Carroll County 4-H Junior Leaders!

Live beef cattle, goats, sheep, swine, and new for 2026 - rabbit and poultry will be present for 4-H members to get an early start for the 2026 fair! Whether enrolled in the project or not, 4-H members can practice their showmanship and learn about rations, purchasing animals, and animal health.

What is the significance of May 15th?

All beef cattle, dairy cattle, goats, horses, llamas, poultry, rabbit, sheep and swine intended for 4-H show exhibition in 2026 need to be identified by the end of May 15th!

This is 🅽🅾🆃 selecting the species project youth intends to show, it is entering 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗳𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗻 𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗹.
