Congratulations to the 2016 inductees of Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame. Among the 11 new members that were announced, a total of four are former Razorbacks, plus one Razorback coach. WPS!!!

*Fred Marshall (Football)- three year letterman and only quarterback in UA history to lead a team to a national championship, leading the Razorbacks to a magical 11-0 season in 1964.

*Greg Koch (Football)- member of Arkansas’ 1970s all-decade team who lettered for the Razorbacks from 1973-76 and was a starting offensive tackle.

*The late Niall O’Shaughnessy (Track & Field)- the first in program history to earn All-American accolades in every academic year he competed. and was a six-time All-American across three sports in 5 different events.

*The late Almer Lee (Basketball)- the first African-American men’s basketball letterman whe lead the team in scoring for two-consecutive seasons and was named Southwest Conference Sophomore of the Year.

*Barry Lunney Sr.(Football coach)- the father of former Razorback quarterback Barry Lunney Jr., and current tight ends coach.

The other 2016 inductees into the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame include major league pitcher A.J. Burnett, NASCAR owner and driver Bill Davis, North Little Rock high school tennis star Paula Juels Jones, high school football coaching legend Barry Lunney Sr., boxer Pete Mead, PGA golfer Bryce Molder and Arkansas State football All-American Bill Phillips.

Top 10 Brandon Allen Notes You Need To Know for Saturday;
1. Ranks ninth in the nation and leads the SEC in quarterback efficiency at 164.7.
2. One of six FBS quarterbacks with 20-plus touchdowns and five or less interceptions … also accomplished the feat in 2014 to bring his two-year total (2014, 15) to 41 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
3. In Arkansas’ last 10 quarters and five overtime periods, Allen is 59-of-81 for 825 yards, 10 touchdowns and no interceptions.
4. Owns the top two passing performances (yards) in the SEC this season and is just the second player in Arkansas history with two 400-yard passing games in the same season.
5. Ranks in the top three in the SEC in yards per attempt (9.24/1st), passing yards (2,476/2nd), passing touchdowns (21/2nd) and completion percentage (.649/3rd).
6. One of three FBS quarterbacks to throw six touchdowns and no interceptions in a game this season.
7. Led Arkansas to points in 15 of his last 20 possessions under center, including 14 touchdowns, and no three-and-outs in his last 23 possessions.
8. Leads the nation with three touchdown passes in overtime this season, all of which have been thrown to Drew Morgan.
9. In the fourth quarter and overtime of the last two SEC wins against Auburn and at Ole Miss, Allen is 20-of-30 for 238 yards, five touchdowns and no interceptions.
10. Sits just eight touchdown passes away from breaking Ryan Mallett’s program record for career touchdowns of 62.

WPS!!! Arkansas announces 2016 football schedule, and its a treat! For the first time in school history, the University of Arkansas will play four Southeastern Conference games at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium in the 2016 season. Arkansas and the SEC announced the full 2016 Razorback Football schedule that includes some of the nation’s top programs such as Alabama (Oct. 8), Ole Miss (Oct. 15), Florida (Nov. 5) and LSU (Nov. 12) will make trips to Razorback Stadium. Arkansas’ non-conference schedule is highlighted by a trip to current-No. 5 TCU on Sept. 10, as well as play the Southwest Classic on Sept. 24 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. There will also be SEC road games at Auburn (Oct. 22), Mississippi State (Nov. 19) and Missouri (Nov. 26). Go Hogs Go!!!

Congratulations to former Razorbacks Alvin Bailey and Tavaris Jackson! They mark the fifth straight year a Razorback was on the Super Bowl Championship Team. As well, Coach Pete Carroll continues the "tradition" as the only coaches -who have won both an NCAA and Super Bowl Championship (Jimmy Johnson, Barry Switzer) - are all previous coaches at Arkansas. Go Hogs Go!!!

When Super Bowl XLVIII kicks off Sunday evening, it will be the sixth straight year with a former Razorback.
