Team,
We are expecting sketchy winter weather tomorrow morning! Leadership has made the decision to conduct virtual classes for all CGSC students tomorrow, 15 Jan. If you need to travel at all, please make a careful personal risk assessment. BL: If it doesn’t look safe to drive, don’t!

Incoming CGSC Students for AY18 -
On-post housing office is http://www.ftleavenworthfamilyhousing.com
You can contact the office to arrange for a facetime walk-through of the hous in advance of arriving at Ft. Leavenworth, so that you can sign for a lease even before you arrive. Categories of homes offered are:
Married 0-2 children = 3 bedroom
3-4 children = 4 bedroom
5+ children = 5 bedroom

This is not an endorsement by the USAF Element for the private government contractor of on-post housing, simply a piece of information for your decision-making calculus.

Some additional information on the Metropolitan Ave construction.

Short term project closures listed below typically take place during daylight hours. Project completion dates typically range from 1 to 30 days. All closures and scheduled work are weather permitting and subject to change.

The work has begun on Metropolitan. One lane either direction. For those turning toward the Blue Bridge it is a single lane. Metropolitan westbound is now just one lane, and you have turn at the light rather than the ramp.

Looks like we're in for another wet weekend, if only today and tomorrow. The severe storm predictions (below) have shifted where we won't see the rain as bad. But stay safe this weekend!

The severe storm threat has shifted WEST and the tornado threat is DECREASING. If you remember yesterday when we outlined conditions that would be necessary for strong storms, it appears 2 of them will not be in place: The air over our area will not be warm enough and the storm system will not come in at the right time (now coming in overnight).

Friday night is never a good time for storms, so we hope our heads up yesterday at least gave you a moment to think about what you would do if you needed to take shelter tonight. What would you do if a tornado were headed your direction while you were at the movies? At a restaurant? Out on the road? In a bar? These are good things to think about any time severe weather is a possibility.

Going to be a wet weekend. Potentially up to an inch and a half of rain through Sunday. Be aware of localized flooding.

Showers and storms will become increasingly likely this afternoon and especially after midnight tonight, and will continue into Saturday. Although strong/severe storms are not expected, some minor flooding is possible with the multiple rounds of storms anticipated.
