Youโ€™re invited to the 2026 Sustainable Futures Challenge Trade Show!

On Tuesday, Oct. 20, our top 20 teams will be showcasing their ideas on the first floor of Lucas Hall from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Every idea in the room was built by FGCU students and recent alumni to address one or more of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, and this is your chance to see them in person.

Walk the floor, chat with the teams, and vote for the ideas you like best. Your votes will help determine which six teams advance to Pitch Day on Nov. 17, where theyโ€™ll pitch for more than $15,000 in funding to bring their ventures to life.

The event is free and open to everyone, so whether youโ€™re a student, faculty or staff member, a proud family member, or just curious about whatโ€™s happening at FGCU, weโ€™d love to see you there.

Proud to share some great news from Experiential Classroom XXVI! ๐Ÿ†

Held September 17-20 in Tallahassee, the conference brought together more than 80 entrepreneurship educators from across the country and around the world. Two DKSOE faculty members came home with first place honors.

Dr. Moses Osofero and his team won 1st place in the Case Study Teaching Demonstration. Working from a ghost kitchen case, they used AI to build a live dashboard and positioned students as consultants advising the business owner, creating a realistic boardroom experience.

Dr. Greg Desrosiers earned 1st place in the Business Case Simulator Challenge, presented by Dr. Ernest Cadotte of the University of Tennessee and Marketplace Simulations. Dr. Desrosiers plans to reinvest his prize directly in FGCU students. His case study teamโ€™s session was also highlighted by facilitators as a model of hands-on, experiential teaching, and a video of their lesson was shown to all delegates. In it, students compare results on their own food delivery apps and use AI tools like ChatGPT and Claude to explore the case, learning that AI can be a powerful learning tool while the human stays in control.

Congratulations, Dr. Osofero and Dr. Desrosiers! ๐Ÿ‘

Our students are making headlines! ๐ŸŽฒ

Students Carl Cearc and Bella Logsdon were featured on Gulf Coast News for God Gauntlet, the mythology-inspired board game they created through their company, GG Entertainment. What started as an idea Carl talked about with friends in the dorms has grown into a real business, and the team earned the top Runway Program funding award for their semester at $9,000.

We love that their game brings people together around the table, and weโ€™re so proud to see them building something that inspires others.

Today we pause to remember the lives lost and the heroes who stepped forward in a moment of unimaginable tragedy.

We honor the courage, sacrifice and unity that defined that day and the days that followed.

May we carry forward a spirit of resilience, service and leadership, honoring those who have dedicated themselves to serving others and strengthening our communities.

Happy Labor Day.

Today we recognize the hard work, dedication, and resilience that keep our communities and businesses moving forward.

Entrepreneurship is built on effort. Early mornings. Late nights. Showing up when it would be easier not to.

To the builders, makers, leaders, and teams who put in the work every day, thank you.

Hereโ€™s to honoring the hands that build our future.
