We are excited to welcome Clay Brillhart as the newest member of our faculty and the new Livestock Judging Coach.

A Fort Scott native, Clay has deep roots in agriculture and a lifelong passion for livestock evaluation. Growing up actively involved in both 4-H and FFA, he developed a strong foundation in the livestock industry that ultimately led him to pursue a collegiate judging career. Clay attended Butler Community College before continuing his education and livestock judging career at Oklahoma State University. He graduated in 2025 with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science and a minor in Agricultural Economics.

Clay’s passion for livestock judging was cultivated from an early age through his family’s operations, Brillhart-Slater Show Lambs and Brillhart Show Goats, located just outside of Fort Scott. Those experiences helped shape his commitment to the livestock industry and his dedication to developing future leaders in agriculture.

As someone who proudly calls Fort Scott home, Clay is excited to invest in the next generation of students while drawing upon the exceptional agricultural talent and resources found throughout the region. In addition, Clay is dedicated to recruiting some of the nation’s most talented livestock students to our campus, further enhancing the program’s reputation and competitive success.

Please join us in welcoming Clay to our program. We look forward to the energy, experience, and leadership he will bring to our students, livestock judging team, and agricultural community.

Meet Christine Faurbo, a Nursing major at Fort Scott Community College with an expected graduation date of 2028.

Originally from Kingman, Kansas, Christine chose FSCC to stay close to home and support her father—while also pursuing her passion for healthcare. As a non-traditional student, she’s balancing work, family, and school, all while proving that it’s never too late to chase your goals.

Her favorite class? Microbiology with Mrs. Springer. “You think you’re walking into a tough class—and you are—but she makes it fun, exciting, and something you look forward to,” Christine says.

Christine credits her motivation to her son and her late mother’s support. Her advice to future students: “Advocate for yourself and don’t let fear stop you.”

Instructor Tracy Springer shares, “Christine manages competing demands of life, work and school with a positive attitude.”

Fun fact: Christine is a die-hard Doctor Who fan and loves all things British!
