Fort Valley State University’s College of Agriculture, Family Sciences and Technology is excited to offer AgDiscovery this summer. Supported by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, this hands-on program gives students a first-hand look at the many exciting and rewarding career paths in agricultural sciences. Fort Valley State University Extension will host another session in their “The Herbalist Talks” workshop series Wednesday, June 3, from noon to 2 p.m. at the Macon County Extension Office, 105 S. Sumter St. in Oglethorpe, Georgia. This event focuses on understanding healing plants, and each guest will get to create their own custom salve using pre-infused oils! Held during the 2025 Sunbelt Ag Expo in Moultrie, the contest featured original, on-site student submissions. This year's spring and summer garden items include squash, chocolate bell peppers, bell peppers, cucumbers, jalapeños and different varieties of watermelon. 🍉🫑
