FVSU has several distinguished programs to develop well-rounded students and scholars. We offer a rigorous academic program for high-achieving students. All initiatives provide a challenging environment leading to better opportunities at the nation’s top graduate school and professional programs. The campus’ dual-enrollment program, University Today Scholars, helps high school students earn colleg

Fort Valley State has the Cooperative Developmental Energy Program, also known as CDEP, which is the nation’s only program aimed at preparing minorities and women to pursue energy-related disciplines. Students in this program earn two bachelor’s degrees: one science-related, the other energy-related. The campus also maintains a host of academically challenging and leadership building classes including our Science, Technology and Mathematics Program (STEM), honors courses and ROTC.

Congratulations to Haneefat Adanijo, a Computer Science scholar from Dacula, Georgia.

Her favorite memories at FVSU include founding the Cyber Security Club, serving as SGA Chief Justice, and the various student trips and competitions where she represented the university across the country. These experiences allowed her to build meaningful relationships with her peers and alumni that made her college journey unforgettable. 💙💛

Her advice to future Wildcats: stay curious and always bet on yourself. Don't be afraid to carve out your own niche, even if no one else is walking that path yet, consistency and drive will take you exactly where you need to be.

After graduation, she plans to continue her work in information technology while pursuing her graduate degree in Cybersecurity. Her goal is to become a leading expert at the intersection of Agriculture, Technology, and Cybersecurity, helping secure the systems that the world depends on.

We’re so proud of you, Haneefat, and can’t wait to see you walk across the stage! 🎉

Congratulations to Demar Richards, a Graduating Biology Scholar from Conyers, Georgia.

One of Demar’s favorite memories at Fort Valley State University was serving as the 18th Mister Fort Valley State University and using his platform to lead, inspire, and give back to the student body. Through leadership, service, campus involvement, and mentoring others, he proudly represented FVSU while striving to leave a positive impact on the university community. His journey at Fort Valley State was filled with growth, brotherhood, and unforgettable experiences that helped shape him into the leader he is today.

His advice to future Wildcats is simple but powerful: never limit yourself. Step outside your comfort zone, stay consistent, trust God through every season, and take advantage of every opportunity placed before you. College goes by fast, so lead with purpose, build connections, and leave your mark on the university.

After graduation, Demar will continue his academic journey at Clark Atlanta University, where he plans to pursue his Master of Business Administration with interests in healthcare management and marketing. His long-term goal is to combine business, leadership, and healthcare to create impact in underserved communities while continuing to inspire others along the way.

We are incredibly proud of you, Demar, and can’t wait to see all that’s ahead for you! 🎊🎓
