These photos capture one of my favorite moments from commencement: having the opportunity to medal our graduating Summit Scholars.

These students have spent the last four years growing as leaders, scholars, mentors, and community-minded individuals. It has been a privilege to watch them develop their voices, support one another, and leave their mark on the Chapman and Doermer Distinguished Scholars Programs.

And I cannot say this enough — congratulations. I am so proud of all you have accomplished, and I cannot wait to see where your next chapter takes you. Thank you for the way you have represented this program and for the example you have set for the scholars coming behind you.

A heartfelt thank you to Mr. Howard Chapman for making the Chapman Scholars Program possible.

Because of his generosity, vision, and continued investment in student success, our scholars have had the opportunity to grow as leaders, serve their communities, build meaningful connections, and create lasting memories throughout their time at Purdue University Fort Wayne.

Today, we are proud to celebrate our graduating Chapman Scholars. Over the past four years, it has been such a joy to watch them grow, lead, serve, and make their mark on the program. Each of them has contributed something meaningful to our Chapman Scholars community, and we are so proud of all they have accomplished.

To our graduates: thank you for the example you have set and for the mentorship you have offered to the scholars coming behind you. Your impact will continue to be felt in the program long after graduation.

Prepping for graduation this afternoon and feeling so proud! 🎓

Today, five Chapman Scholars and one Doermer Scholar will walk across the stage and receive their Summit Scholars medal. The Chapman Scholars will also be wearing a purple and white cord in honor of Mr. Chapman’s alma mater.

What a meaningful way to celebrate their hard work, dedication, and the legacy of the Summit Scholars Program. Congratulations to our graduates—we are so excited to cheer you on! 🖤💛💜🤍

Congratulations to our Chapman and Doermer seniors on completing and presenting their Summit Scholars Capstone projects!

These final presentations represent the dedication, research, service, and community connection our scholars have developed throughout their capstone experience. We are so proud of the work they have done and the meaningful ways they have used their interests and talents to make an impact.

We also want to extend our sincere thanks to the project mentors and Faculty Fellows who supported our scholars throughout this process. Your guidance, encouragement, and expertise helped bring these projects to completion and made a lasting difference in each scholar’s experience.

Congratulations to our Chapman and Doermer juniors on completing the initial presentations for their Summit Scholars Capstone projects!

This first presentation is an important step in the capstone process, giving scholars the opportunity to share their project ideas, receive feedback, and begin shaping the work they will continue over the next year.

We are so proud of the thought, care, and purpose they are bringing to their projects, and we look forward to seeing how each one develops before their final presentations next spring.

A special thank you to the project mentors and Faculty Fellows who are guiding and supporting our scholars throughout this process. Your time, encouragement, feedback, and expertise play an important role in helping students strengthen their ideas, connect their work to the community, and grow through the capstone experience.

Congratulations, juniors — this is just the beginning!
