Purdue Fort Wayne Department of Biological Sciences The Department of Biological Sciences at Purdue University Fort Wayne There are currently over 400 undergraduate majors and almost 40 MS graduate students.

The Department of Biological Sciences is located in the Science Building of the Purdue Fort Wayne campus. We provide not only a broad range of undergraduate courses, but also have an excellent MS graduate program with both thesis and non-thesis options. Interested undergraduate and graduate students can participate in research projects or in other forms of scholarly activity with individual facult

y members. Our faculty research programs extend into many different fields within biology, including aquatic ecology, behavior, botany, conservation, ecotoxicology, evolutionary biology, genetics, herpetology, immunology, microbiology, molecular biology, physiological ecology, and stress physiology. The faculty and students are supported by a wonderful staff (Science Building 330; 260-481-6305) who assist in everything from class registration to advising to laboratory operations. In terms of majors, the Biological Sciences is the largest department in the College of Science at Purdue Fort Wayne. More than half of our undergraduates are pre-professional, intending to enter medical, dental, or similar programs. We have several undergraduate concentrations to choose from, including Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, Microbiology and Immunology, and Genetics, Cellular and Molecular Biology. Our advising team stands ready to help you figure out what courses you need to take and suggest what other opportunities might await you while at Purdue Fort Wayne.
