We’re excited to see the dedication, passion and leadership Sr. Maria Gemma brings to Saint Francis as she leads the university and prepares students for personal and professional lives of virtue, service and joy.

Sister Maria Gemma Salyer, OSF, was formally installed on Thursday as the 12th president of the University of Saint Francis, with the Most Reverend Kevin C. Rhoades presiding at a Mass beforehand and telling her, "I am personally very happy that you were chosen to succeed Dr. Lance Richey as president of Saint Francis." Students, faculty, alumni, and civic leaders joined the celebration at the Hutzell Athletic Center.

Congratulations to Indiana State University alumna Sister Maria Gemma Salyer, OSF, on her inauguration as the 12th president of the University of Saint Francis! 🎉 💙

Sister Maria Gemma earned her doctorate in Educational Administration – Higher Education Leadership from Indiana State University and has dedicated her career to education, leadership and service.

We’re proud to see a Sycamore take on this new role and continue making a difference in higher education. We look forward to seeing all she accomplishes as president of Saint Francis.
