Framingham State University Commonwealth Honors Program

Framingham State University Commonwealth Honors Program Courses bearing the "Honors" designation are drawn from a wide range of disciplines and are designed to be intensive and intellectually challenging.

The Framingham State University Honors Program is designed to provide academically talented students with the opportunity to enrich their educational experience with courses both within and outside of their major program of study. Honors courses draw upon students' analytical and creative talents. Designed for a maximum enrollment of 20 students, honors courses aim to foster in-depth class discuss

ion and a close student-instructor relationship. These courses may be applied to the general education requirements specified by the University. Entering first-year students will be invited to participate in the University Honors Program based on a weighted composite of their combined SAT scores, class rank (if available), high school GPA, and a demonstrated potential for superior work at the university level. Any student admitted to the University who was not initially invited to participate in the program may apply to the Honors Program Committee during the second semester of their freshman year or prior to October 1st of sophomore year. This also applies to sophomore-level transfer students. A minimum QPA of 3.25, together with two letters of recommendation from faculty members and a brief statement of intent should be submitted to the Director of the Honors Program, Dr. Carolyn Maibor, for evaluation by the Honors Program Committee.

Good morning Honors Students,

The FSU Honors Program cordially invites you to an evening at the Boston Ballet for a performance of THE NUTCRACKER on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at 7:30pm. Transportation to and from the Boston Opera House will be provided.

The event is being sponsored (in part) by the Honors Program, we are asking students to pay $20 each. If you'd like to attend please let me know ASAP, as I’ll need to purchase tickets. I will need to collect everyone’s $20 pretty quickly as the Boston Ballet will only hold tickets for 2 weeks.

The bus will be departing from the McCarthy Center at 6pm on Tuesday, December 10. The show starts at 7:30pm, the run-time is approx. 2 hours. The bus will then bring us back to the McCarthy Center.
