🌿 Wednesday’s Fredericksburg OLLI course: 🐸

A Journey Into Giant Amphibian Ecology, was taught by Dr. Rod Williams, Texas Tech University’s Vice Provost for Outreach & Engagement and Shandus Helms, Program Director of PK12 for O&E.

During the course, Fredericksburg OLLI students explored:

✔️ The biology and behavior of giant salamanders

✔️ How these amphibians can be sentinel species. Think: salamander in the stream

✔️ Research, preservation, and what their survival can teach us about water quality and conservation

Wildlife, ecology, and scientific expertise made this class an engaging and eye-opening experience. Because the world of giant amphibians is bigger than you think!

RIP Sonny Curtis. Our deepest condolences to the Curtis family.

A prolific singer and songwriter who got his start with Buddy Holly, he also wrote “I Fought the Law,” “Walk Right Back” and hundreds of other songs.
