Midland University Greek Life The purpose of being a part of a Greek organization is to carry on its tradition, education, pride, and membership of a chapter.

Joining a Greek fraternity or sorority at Midland University opens you to new, life-long friendships, leadership and service opportunities, academic success and an overall richer college experience. All events, activities, programs, or other organized or unorganized Greek opportunities should reflect the mission and core values of Midland University, while also upholding the Greek Ideals of Scho

larship, Leadership, Service, and Brotherhood/Sisterhood. STATEMENT OF POSITION
Midland University recognizes that fraternities and sororities are an integral part of campus life. They provide leadership opportunities, social and academic support, scholarship, friendship and community service. The University has an obligation to protect the environment within which fraternities and sororities operate. All students are expected to conduct themselves responsibly and respect the rights of fellow citizens. Any departure from these standards will result in disciplinary sanctions.

FRATERNITY- MEET THE CHAPTERS -Beta Sigma Psi Founded in 2001 on Midland’s campus, Beta Sigma Psi is a national Lutheran college fraternity, which seeks to maintain the Lutheran traditions and provide college men an environment to develop scholastically, spiritually and socially while away from home, while allowing opportunities to have fun while doing so. Beta Sigma Psi endeavors to assist members in character development, intellectual awareness, spiritual welfare, brotherhood, integrity, friendship and to advance justice. -Iota Phi Theta Iota Phi Theta was founded in 1963 and is the fifth largest historically African-American fraternity in the nation. Their purpose is the development and perpetuation of scholarship, leadership, citizenship, fidelity, and brotherhood in men from all diversity groups and initiatives on campus. Their colors, which they wear with great pride, are charcoal brown and gilded gold. -Kappa Phi Founded in 1944 in the colors of red and white, the men of Kappa Phi fraternity honor the unity and brotherhood that they exhibit on and off campus. Kappa Phi members participate in several campus activities and community service projects each year and hold the most Blue Key awards among Midland fraternities. They also retain strong ties with their large and readily available alumni base. -Sigma Rho Sigma Rho fraternity was founded in 1943. Members wear the colors of black and gold with great pride. The men of Sigma Rho are also proud of their talents in the classroom and throughout the campus of Midland University. In addition, they are known for their victorious performances at Midland University’s annual Greek Games. SORORITIES- MEET THE CHAPTERS -Phi Omega Phi Omega sorority was founded in 1938 with the crescent moon as their symbol. The ladies of Phi Omega, wearing black and yellow, are known for their diverse talents around campus, especially in athletics, as well as for their exceptional GPAs. -Pi Epsilon Founded in 1938 in the colors of navy and white, the members of Pi Epsilon sorority take great pride in organizing numerous community service projects on campus and in the Fremont and surrounding communities. -Tri Phi Tri Phi sorority was founded in 1938. Their colors are red, white, and black. The women of Tri Phi are proud of their substantial involvement in several student organizations on campus and of their success in the classroom.
