In 1980, President Jimmy Carter proclaimed March 8th as National Women’s History Week. In his proclamation, he wrote that both men and women had built America but women were often unsung and their contributions went unnoticed. Finally, in 1987, Congress expanded the National Women’s History Week to a full month dedicated to recognizing women’s historical contributions.
On March 22, 2019, we invite you to join us as we celebrate and honor some of the women and organizations which have worked tirelessly to build a better society and our democracy.
