As a chapter our brothers have been busy across the Valley. In Bakersfield several brothers attended the Project BEST Scholarship Awards Ceremony. Project BEST is a phenomenal program that supports young men in the Kern High School District. A big thanks to Janell Burton for your work in this effort. We look forward to the oppourtunity to engage through mentoring efforts with the program.

The Bakersfield (CA) Alumni Chapter (Clovis-Visalia-Bakersfield) was honored to win the Edward L. Shelton Reclamation Award. This award goes to the chapter that reclaims brothers back into their chapter in a year.

We also brought home the Sterling Dover Scrapbook Award given to the chapter who assembles a creative presentation highlighting many of the chapter’s service events and program throughout the year. This was a true testament to the work being done by brothers across the Central Valley.

Brothers gathered Friday to continue our commitment to students in Clovis by participating in the 19th annual African American Student Success Conference.

Our Polemarch served as the emcee and our Vice Polemarch and several of our brothers were there to engage with middle school and high school students from the district.
