We are happy to announce that Marijke Bouwmans will be exhibiting her multimedia installation at M Street in collaboration with several participating graduate students. We hope you can make it this Thursday from 5pm-8pm for the reception however, if you miss it the gallery will be open the following three Saturdays from noon to 4 p.m.

The 2021 Senior Art Show Zoom virtual reception and website goes live this Thursday, May 6th at 6pm. I hope you are able to attend this event, which will include a few guest speakers and the student awards. The reception is open to the public so please attend and show your support for our graduating Studio Art seniors.

"Isolation" is a graduate group show curated by Professor Ed Gillum and the students enrolled in Art 240 – Graduate Studio Seminar. This exhibit will also feature work by guest artist, Diran Lyons.

In lieu of an in-person gallery exhibition event, a "Drive By" show will be arranged for all to take a look at the work in a window display at the Fresno State Art and Design Graduate Art Studios Gallery at 1419 M Street in downtown Fresno. Art of Giving Art Contest
Department of Art and Design, California State University Fresno

Join us at Fresno State University’s Department of Art and Design to celebrate the Day of Giving on November 17 with The Art of Giving Art Contest!

The theme of the contest is THE ART OF GIVING! We are looking for artwork in any medium that celebrates the spirit of giving. Generosity, love, community service, or anything else that says “GIVING” to you. Please keep your submissions family friendly!

Deadline: Submissions will be accepted now until midnight, November 13.

To enter the contest, please post your best art work in any medium on the theme of giving as a photo on our department page. https://www.facebook.com/FSArtandDesign

Tag your entry with .

Include in the caption, your name, the title of the artwork, date it was completed, size, and media.

Your image will display best if the height is set at no more than 1080 pixels, and the width is no more than 1920 pixels.

Our admin will gather all the submission into a single album. We’ll reveal the album on November 14, and open it to public voting.

The contest will be judged by you, our friends, alumni, students, faculty, staff, and community! Watch our page for the big Day of Giving unveiling. We will make The Art of Giving album public on our page. You can like your favorite images. The image with the most “likes” or other reactions will get the People’s Choice Award!

We need your help more than ever in this difficult year to bring the amazing cultural programming, art exhibitions, lectures, and other events that we work so hard to bring to the community. Distant Connections is a virtual exhibition created by students during the Spring 2020 semester in ART 240: Graduate Seminar in Studio at Fresno State. It features the work of students, faculty, area artists, and Fresno State alumni who generously shared their work with students during seminar presentations or in-studio visits.

Initially an exhibition was planned to open on Art Hop at the M Street Gallery. Due to COVID 19, we are obliged to present the work through a virtual space. Please enter our virtual gallery, where we offer a glimpse into the creative work of these artists.

Here is the Next Show!!

Next week Fresno State Art and Design Graduate Student, Anabella Monzon will open her show at the Graduate Art Studios Gallery at M Street from October 3-13, 2019. The ArtHop Reception is Thursday, Oct. 3 from 5-8p.m. The Gallery Hours will be Sat/Sun from 12-4 p.m.
