Family Dinner Project
Beginning Sculpture- Art 240- Professor Pauza
Food and its occasions represent our heritage,
home, and current place in the world. It’s an
excuse that brings family together and
potentially prompts tense interactions. Using
personal and/or cultural ideas as inspiration,
students examined the dynamic relationships
with family and cultural identity through food,
gatherings, and rituals. Students built their own
narrative around a “place setting” or a “center
piece” while transforming objects through the
processes of casting, altering, and transforming
objects using mixed media materials.

OPENS FRIDAY 11/7!!

Professor Jamison Odone:

“For many years, myself and three artist friends would gather at a house in Ridgefield, CT for figure drawing sessions. We’d sit snd draw and chat and listen to stories told by Maurice. This was in the early 2000s and I miss it dearly. There are only two of us left. Maurice Sendak passed away in 2012 and Marc McChesney in 2021. So, this exhibition will feature the works of all four of us with the help of the family members and foundations of our late friends.“
