We wanted to share this awesome collaboration between the Dr. David M. Gillespie Special Collections and Dr. Amy Armiento's Spring 2026 ENG 376 class. Students were asked to transcribe a diary written by a young man from Frostburg in 1918. We don't know who this individual is, if you have any ideas, please let us know! Follow his story as he completes his teaching assignment, moves back home to Frostburg, and joins the US Army (likely) to fight overseas in WWI. Thank you for celebrating our 50th Anniversary of the Lewis J. Ort Library last Thursday! On this day in 1976, the new Frostburg State College Library was open to the campus community. Join us tomorrow, Thursday April 9, as we celebrate our 50 year anniversary! Celebrations start at 2:00 pm on the 5th floor of the Ort Library. We will enjoy a performance by the FSU Jazz orchestra, followed by refreshments and a history talk on our campus library history. Hope you can join us for the festivities tomorrow!
