SPECIAL ROVING COURT REPORTER
Immediate opening for stenographic court reporter in Mobile, Alabama, 13th
Judicial Circuit. Starting salary of $61,900. All transcript income is in addition
to the salary.
This position requires candidates to be a Registered Professional Reporter or
hold a State of Alabama Certified Court Reporter Certification. Registration
with the Alabama Board of Court Reporting is also required.
Examples of work to be performed include, but are not limited to: providing
court reporting services in all divisions, criminal, civil, and domestic relations
which will involve both jury trials and bench trials; preparing transcripts as
required by the local court and within the Rules of Judicial Administration for
Appellate Courts; working with individual judges’ staff within the courtroom
and office setting; and being part of a team in Court Administration that also
assists with Jury Administration and other functions throughout the circuit.
General supervision will be provided by Circuit Judges and the Court
Administrator.
Court reporters provide their own equipment specifically related to court
reporting and the State of Alabama provides all other office supplies.
This position accrues sick and annual leave and provides all benefits provided
to State of Alabama full-time employees to include health insurance, medical
prescription programs, retirement, life insurance. In addition, the State of
Alabama also observes fifteen (15) State Holidays. This position allows for
advancement into an official reporting position for a circuit judge.
