What is now the Entomology Club began in 2002 as "The Insect Collecting Society". Lindsay Griffin Was the inaug

ural President and approximately 5 students carried the society's activities. At that time, there were only 18 majors and minors in entomology with an average GPA of 2.37. In 2005, we became"The Entomology Club" and registered in 2008 as an official Student Government Organization. Today, there are almost 80 entomology club members who come from a variety of majors campus-wide. We have 74 majors and minors in entomology with an average GPA of 3.66. The Entomology Club is regarded as one of the most active in campus and outreach activities in the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences. We have been the only club for three years to be invited to participate in Parents' Weekend, organized by New Student Programs at UF. Club members participate in an array of activities including school visits, CALS Connection, Parents' weekend, majors fairs, dorm visits and other activities associated with either CALS or UF.
