Accelerated BSN hit the ground running during their first weeks at UF College of Nursing, touring all three Gainesville campuses of UF Health: UF Health Shands Hospital, UF Health Cancer Hospital and UF Health Heart and Vascular Hospital.

Led by hospital nurses, the two-hour tours gave students an inside look at units such as pediatrics and the adult burn unit while helping them become familiar with the hospitals where they may complete future clinical experiences. From learning campus layouts to exploring patient care spaces, students gained an early introduction to the fast-paced clinical environments they will soon join.

The future of nursing is bright at the University of Florida College of Nursing! 💙🧡 We proudly celebrated the BSN Class of 2026 during the Spring Pinning and Recognition Ceremony, honoring graduates for their leadership, resilience, compassion and commitment to nursing excellence. As they received their nursing pins and recited the professional nursing pledge, these soon-to-be graduates officially joined the proud legacy of Gator Nursing during the college’s 70th anniversary year.

A new journey in nursing officially begins this week! 💙 Please help us welcome the Accelerated BSN Class of 2027 as they start their first classes at the UF College of Nursing.

We’re excited to welcome this incredible group of future from both Gainesville and Jacksonville to the UF College of Nursing family. This year also marks a 50% increase in our Jacksonville cohort, a reflection of the growing demand for compassionate, skilled nurses.

One year from now, these students will be preparing to cross the stage and begin their careers in healthcare. Here’s to new beginnings, big dreams and learning to !

Today, as we wrap up our celebration of Nurses Week, we celebrate the stories, experiences and moments that inspire future nurses to answer the call to care. 💙

Incoming UF College of Nursing Accelerated BSN student Devyn Bernstein shared how a compassionate caregiver helped shape her path into nursing: “She became a part of our family. She really embodied what I think a nurse is and what I want to be.” Stories like Devyn’s remind us that nursing is rooted in empathy, human connection and the profound impact caregivers have on patients and families every day.
