Come join us on Friday! 😊

The Marxist Reading Group (MRG) and the Speculative Fiction Reading Group (SFRG) are holding a joint meeting on Friday, March 1st at 5 pm at The Bull (18 SW 1st Ave).

We will be reading M.E. O'Brien's "Communizing Care" in P***o Magazine and an interview with M.E. O'Brien and Eman Abdelhadi in Truthout about their co-written utopian fiction novel Everything for Everyone: An Oral History of the New York Commune, 2052–2072. M.E. O'Brien will be one of the keynotes for our conference in April.

The second Speculative Fiction Reading Group (SFRG) meeting will be taking place this coming Saturday, December 11th at 6PM. We will be meeting to watch the 1956 film Invasion of the Body Snatchers (directed by Don Siegal).

While this “watch party” will be primarily hosted on an (easily accessible) website (https://twoseven.xyz), I would also like to allow us the opportunity to meet in-person as well. So, depending on your individual preference, you may choose to either join us virtually on Saturday or in-person (at my apartment, right near campus) for this film screening!

If you are interested in joining us for this watch party on Saturday, please either…

-- a) Sign up for a (free) account on TwoSeven (https://twoseven.xyz/home) and send me your chosen username/”nickname” (so that I can add you into the chatroom).

--OR--

-- b) Send over an email letting me know that you’re interested in meeting in-person on Saturday. I’ll then get back to you with my address and any/all related details before we meet for the event.

If you are unable to create a TwoSeven account before Saturday, you should still be able to access the watch party, provided you have both a TwoSeven account and a weblink to our page: https://twoseven.xyz/d6c37745-1d11-45b7-86c3-ccebb8316484?referral=grQYmtnTr3

Looking forward to seeing you all on Saturday!
