When Don Slesnick III (BSRPT ’99) arrived at the University of Florida, he didn’t have a set plan. That openness led him on an incredible journey: from studying tourism🎢 and working in tech 🖥️ and consulting, to giving back through nonprofit leadership 🤍, and ultimately discovering a passion for music education 🎶.

Today, Slesnick is a music educator in Miami-Dade County Public Schools, where he inspires young students every day and was recently named Rookie Teacher of the Year in 2026.

His story is a powerful reminder that our paths don’t have to be linear to be meaningful.
