Undergraduate Mathematics Research Symposium @ UF

The sixth annual Undergraduate Mathematics Research Symposium (UMRS) at UF will take place on April 24, 2026, 9:00am–3:30pm, in Little Hall 225. The symposium provides an opportunity for undergraduate math majors to present research, including honors theses, REU projects, and other work. The department is pleased to announce the inaugural UF Mathematics Distinguished Alumni Award, created to celebrate graduates of our department who have achieved exceptional distinction in their professions and made significant contributions to their fields or to society.

We invite you to submit nominations for the 2025-26 award cycle.

Nomination Deadline: March 1, 2026
Announcement of Awardee: March 31, 2026

Nominators may include faculty, staff, students, alumni, and friends of the department. Self-nominations are also welcome. Nominees must hold a UF Mathematics degree (BA, BS, MA, MS, or PhD); current UF Mathematics faculty are not eligible.

To submit a nomination, please complete the online form below:

The nomination form will ask for:
• A letter of nomination (up to one page) describing the nominee’s achievements
• Nominee’s CV or professional biography
• Optional supporting information
