“I tell my students that as therapists, compassion is equally as important as knowledge and skill set.”

Sharon DiFino, a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences, took up woodworking while recovering from long COVID. After amassing over 200 comfort objects, wood carvings akin to worry stones, Sharon knew exactly who could benefit from them. Coming to a city near you: our Clinical and Health Psychology doctoral students. 📍 🗺️

We recently celebrated a 100% match rate for our 14 Clinical and Health Psychology doctoral students who are beginning their clinical placements in nine states across the country. On stage, each student received a heartfelt message from their faculty mentor before pinning their place on the map. The ceremony also celebrated two departing faculty members, Deidre Pereira and Allison Holgerson, as they embark on new adventures. Congratulations to all!

Jessica Kramer, associate professor of UF Occupational Therapy, has earned the American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities’ Sesqui Award for her pioneering work with youth who have IDD.
