It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share the passing of our beloved Allie Sigl. Allie was the heart of what our Cicerones family stands for, someone who led with purpose and loved with intention. She brought a light to our community that is impossible to replace. Allie held herself to the highest standard while always making sure those around her felt seen, valued, and included. She didn’t just strive to be her best, she made everyone around her better too.

To know Allie was to know someone who gave everything she had, to her goals, to her community, and to the people around her. She had a rare gift for pushing herself forward while extending her hand back to bring others along with her.

Our hearts are with everyone who loved her. She touched more lives than she will ever know. As we move forward, we ask that you carry with you the passion, dedication, and kindness that defined Allie in everything she did.

Our Cicerone Alumni Relations committee works to keep the Cicerone community connected: past, present, and future. From fostering meaningful relationships to celebrating the legacy of those who came before us, CARS helps ensure our traditions continue to thrive. Their work creates opportunities for alumni to stay involved while supporting and mentoring the next generation. Look through and see and hear where some of our alumni has worked / studied.

Here’s what our CARs chairs had to say:

I chose to serve as a CARs committee chair to help connect past and present Cicerones. This committee sponsors an alumni mentorship program that pairs current students with established Cicerones in their fields of interest. Through this program, I was matched with an incredible mentor who prepared me for graduate school applications and internships while offering invaluable professional guidance. The mentorship program truly transformed my college experience, and I wanted to give back by helping facilitate meaningful connections between students and alumni.
- Megan Tierney, NM ‘24

CARS is special to me because our organization is uniquely defined by its culture and the strength of its community. Being able to bring together those that were part of this culture 5 years ago and those 40 years ago and connecting to each other and our current membership is awesome. Bridging these relationships across different years and stages of life strengthens this organization and shows us how cicerones stay united well beyond our time at UF.

One of the standout opportunities within Florida Cicerones is serving as a Presidential Host. Our P-Hosts represent the University of Florida at official events by welcoming distinguished guests, supporting presidential functions such as game days and commencements, and engaging with university leadership, alumni, and VIPs with professionalism and pride. This role offers experience in networking, etiquette, and event support while allowing Cicerones to make meaningful connections and serve the Office of the President. Led by our Presidential Host Chairs, this group consistently represents the Gator spirit at the highest level. 🤝👔🐊🏈⭐️

Here’s what they have to say about their experience as P-Hosts...

Having the ability to be a Presidential Host during my college career has been an incredible honor. From working in the president’s suite during game days to assisting the president and his guests at the university house, it has truly been an amazing experience and one that will last a lifetime. As a presidential host, you are able to surround yourself with the best student leaders and faculty while upholding the university’s greatest ideals. Serving on this committee and now being able to lead it has been at the center of my cicerone experience and I am forever grateful for such an opportunity.
-Yoni Mann, NM ‘24

As someone with a career interest in foreign policy who had initially pursued Presidential Hosting for the possible networking opportunities with guests of the Office of the President, I truly had no idea the amount of community and growth I would find in this position. Beyond the professional development and connections, I’ve also made some of my greatest friends and learned so much about myself while working these events. Even with the privilege to currently assist in running the program, I find myself continuously inspired by the welcoming environment and the opportunities to go professionally and personally.
