Over the summer, Dr. Citty traveled to Kentucky to speak at the Southern Legislative Congress and tell the story of the Innovation Academy and give a presentation on building talent, entrepreneurship, and innovation capacity for economic growth.

Exciting new program announcement for Innovation Gators 🐊!

This fall the Innovation academy is launching a new program geared towards helping Catalyst teams take their projects to the next level. The program will provide structured coaching, design and prototyping resources, mentorship, community and a direct pipeline to IA’s founder pipeline. The program begins on September 3 and will have monthly meetings. Come check out the program and decide if it is right for you and your team!

The Prototyping studio is now open for IA student use! The studio is a great resource for turning an idea or class project into a physical prototype. IA students have exclusive access to the studio and free 3D printing!

To begin using the studio students must complete a safety and 3D printing course which can be accessed by emailing [email protected].

A couple of quick reminders for everyone: The event starts at 3pm and will take place in the Reitz Union Grand Ballroom. You can visit the UF parking website to see available parking, but please give yourself enough time to park and find the venue so we can start the event promptly. IA students, MentorGNV is opening applications for the fall 2026 semester.

MentorGNV is an organization that provides mentors – in the form of UF students like you – for the students of Alachua County Public Schools. Our mentors volunteer in local elementary, middle, and high schools each week to serve as a source of continuous support, companionship, and empowerment for students in our local community. Mentors support their mentees academically, socially, mentally, and emotionally each week as they navigate school and life. We believe that by simply being there for our mentees, we can have a profound impact on their lives, and ultimately, on our whole community.
