What started as a project in Rad Bio has ended up as an opportunity for our students to professionally present at the May Education Meeting of the Atlanta Society of Radiologic Technologists!!!☢️🤩 From the Demon Core in the 1940s to Kyshtym in the 1950s, to Enrico Fermi Unit 1 in the 1960s, Church Rock in the 1970s, and finally Goiania in the1980s, our students took us on a journey to some of the lesser known radiation safety events. We are so proud of Zoie, Ben, Asa, Robert, and Marley-they truly did a FANTASTIC job!!! 🎉💛

We were so proud to be there in February to advocate for our profession to state lawmakers, and now HB 571 is signed into law!!!🎉☢️🤩 That’s 2 out of 3 GSRT initiatives achieved in the last 6 months, with just 1 more to go!! 🥳

Milestone Achieved for Radiologist Assistants in Georgia

ARRT proudly congratulates the Georgia Society of Radiologic Technologists (GSRT) on the signing of legislation recognizing and licensing Radiologist Assistants in Georgia. Yesterday Georgia Governor Brian P. Kemp signed the bill into law.

This achievement reflects more than five years of sustained advocacy and collaboration. ARRT is honored to have supported GSRT throughout this important effort.

Congratulations to GSRT leaders and partners on advancing patient care and professional recognition.

It is our absolute pleasure to announce BERT’S BIOHAZARDS as the winners of the 1st Annual THE Rad Bio Games!!!🥳🎉 During the semester long (friendly) competition, teams of five demonstrated their knowledge of all things radiation biology - from dose response curves to the immune system, personnel dose limits to diagnostic x-ray room design, and shielding to ALARA - and these students really know their stuff!!!☢️ Congratulations to Yarely, Ellie, Kaylee, Makenna, and the Bert himself, Robert!! Enjoy your goodie basket!!💛

🤩🎉 Congratulations to Lambda Nu Class President Ellie Curtin for winning the Marjorie Tolan Scholarship and SGA President Asa Walden for winning the Jed Simmons Memorial Scholarship at the GSRT Annual Meeting this weekend in beautiful St. Simons Island, Georgia!!! We are so thrilled for them and their AMAZING accomplishment!!! ☢️☢️🤩🎉

We are SO incredibly proud of our program director, Erika Bongart, for representing LTC, the program, and the profession this past week at the TCSG State Rick Perkins and GOAL conference! She made it to the finals, where she was 1 of 9 instructors that were chosen as the best in our state and given the opportunity to compete for the state title!!! While she did not win the top prize, she DEFINITELY represented the medical imaging community in a ‘RAD’ way!!! Cheers to you, Erika, on a job well done!!! ☢️🩷🎉🤩

🙌🏻☢️ Trauma SIM 2026 is officially in the books! 🙌🏻☢️ Thanks to the quick thinking and impressive imaging efforts of our students, we are happy to report that Kenny Ohno and Debbie Disaster will make a full recovery!❤️‍🩹 We love seeing our students work together and succeed - everything is, in fact, figureoutable! 😉🫶🏻🤩
