The American Constitution Society was so fortunate to host Dr. James Richey last Wednesday! Dr. Richey detailed his career as a practitioner and bestowed his knowledge on how to be a successful solo practitioner upon the students of UF Law. Thank you to everyone who came out, to the E-Board members for setting this up, and to Dr. Richey for the spectacular presentation! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐ŸŠ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿงก

UF Law ACS is mourning the loss of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and all of the other countless victims of police brutality. We believe in ending police brutality and that black lives matter. We hope to continue learning this time and in the future. We strive to make our mission inclusive and bring more awareness to the dangers of systemic racism. Our organization vows to work to equip its students with the necessary tools to dismantle these systems and ensure that our countryโ€™s constitutional promises of equality are not hollow promises but the future of the United States.
The effects of systemic racism continue to infiltrate every aspect of our society. We hope to work to take an interdisciplinary approach to address these effects and dismantle white supremacy. We understand that this work is not just a trend, hashtag, or temporary statement. It is a career committed to antiracism. These beliefs cannot be stated or reaffirmed only when systemic racism hurts us and the news decides to cover it; it must be a lifelong commitment to antiracism, as systemic racism hurts us every single day. We will work to ensure that students at UF Law, through the resources of UF Law ACS, have every opportunity to equip themselves with the tools necessary to aid in this lifelong commitment.
Please stay tuned for upcoming programming offered by UF Law ACS to support this vow.
