UF Knight Division for Scholarships and Student Inclusion

UF Knight Division for Scholarships and Student Inclusion The Knight Division is responsible for coordinating the college’s undergraduate scholarship programs The newsletter is also accessible online.

The Knight Division provides assistance to students seeking internships and full-time employment after graduation. Students receive tips on resume writing, interview techniques, dressing for success and much more. If unsure of future goals or plans, or in need of assistance with career decision making, students may meet with the director for a career counseling session. The Knight Division also sp

onsors a Career Day every Fall and Spring semester. In addition, we coordinate individual visits to the college by newspapers, broadcast stations, agencies and other employers interested in recruiting students with communications and media backgrounds. To make sure students are aware of the latest events and opportunities, a weekly E-newsletter is sent announcing new job and internship opportunities, leadership development events, professional workshops, and networking opportunities. Undergraduate and graduate students, alumni and employers can connect with each other using the Job and Internships database (see links on the menu on the left side of the page). Employers may register for an account to post openings directly, or they may submit them through the Knight Division office. Students may create a free account to access the latest opportunities 24/7! Please take a moment to peruse the career resources provided on our website at https://www.jou.ufl.edu/current-students/current-undergraduate/career-prep-jobs/ and begin your professional development journey. Learn professional insider tips on public records requests from the nation’s leading document-driven journalist, Jason Leopold of Bloomberg News. Leopold is this year’s winner of the Joseph L. Brechner Freedom of Information Award, which has honored excellence in document-based reporting for 40 years. Leopold has sued the federal government for records more than any other individual (last year he filed 17 FOIA lawsuits), and is so prolific, one government official labeled him the “FOIA Terrorist.” His work has led to numerous international investigative reporting awards and induction into the national FOIA Hall of Fame. He writes a weekly email newsletter called FOIA Files and produces a new documentary called Disclosure. And he’s pretty cool. Don’t miss this great opportunity to learn from the best before the semester lets out!
