DZ SPOTLIGHT✨🌟💫
My name is Shania Carrasco & I am majoring in Sociology and Psychology!
Where are you traveling? What program are you on?
I’m in the Business, Economics, and Social Sciences program with IES Abroad in Madrid.
What do you love most about DZ?
What I love most about DZ is the genuine sense of sisterhood this chapter has given me. It’s not just about showing up to events but truly showing up for each other. DZ is a space where people are encouraged to grow, to try new things, and be supported through every phase of college life. There’s the fun and goofy moments, but also leadership, service, and authenticity that makes it feel meaningful and not performative. What’s special about this chapter is the people. We are a chapter that prioritizes connection, inclusion, and growth and it creates an environment where I’m both challenged and supported. DZ has gifted some of my best friends in this life and I don’t know where I’d be without them.
What do you miss the most about the chapter?
I miss my girls! The hardest about about being abroad is being away from my big and my little (especially because my baby just got a baby, hi cameron!) I miss the spontaneous side quests, studying together, laughing over literally nothing, and knowing that as long as there was a sister in the room I knew I belonged there. DZ has really shaped who I am it has pushed me into leadership roles, to advocate for myself and others, it gave me confidence. It’s a chapter that leaves a lasting impact long after you step away from campus.
