Sandburg President Dr. Seamus Reilly has announced that he will retire from his position at the end of his contract on June 30, 2027, after nine years leading the institution.

“It truly has been an honor to lead Carl Sandburg College over the past nine years,” Reilly said. “I am proud of the work that has been accomplished through the hard work of staff and faculty, and I look forward to seeing Sandburg continue to grow and shape our region.”

Get revved up for the Sandburg Car Show from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Sept. 13 in the building A parking lot on the Galesburg campus.

This annual event is open to the public and includes free entry for all exhibitors. The first 100 to pre-register will receive a dash plaque and exhibitor card. Parking for entries is on a first-come, first-served basis. All makes, models and years of vehicles are welcome. You do not have to be a Sandburg student or employee to show your vehicle.

Food trucks will be on site, and Sandburg swag will be available at the show, which attracts hundreds of car enthusiasts from around the area.
