Stockton University Dance Program

Stockton University Dance Program Dance at Stockton University allows students to pursue the rigorous art of dance as a major.

The program is open to any Stockton student who is interested and skilled in Dance. Prospective freshmen and transfer students in Dance should plan to attend a placement audition. All Performing Arts students must participate in an audition, an interview, or a portfolio review in their sophomore year to finalize the selection of their Major and area of concentration. A student who chooses a degree

in the performing arts with a focus on dance selects from five different concentrations:

Dance/Arts Administration
Dance/Performance
Dance/Pre-Movement Science
(Pre-Physical Therapy or Pre-Dance Therapy)
Dance Studio Operations

49 years ago today... the PAC was still brand new.

In may of 1977, just five months after the Performing Arts Center Opened, enrollment to the Stockton University Dance Program "Intro to Dance" class was so strong, a second session had to be added. That announcement appeared in The Argo the same week the program hosted a full day of exhibitions in Studio H-104, a space that continues to serve dancers today.

As we prepare to launch the Stockton Performing Arts Center's 50th season, we are looking back with pride and ahead with excitement. Watch for announcements this July as we share what is planned for this milestone year.
