Reel Science at UTMB Reel Science: Revealing Science Fact and Science Fiction In Movies Reel Science uses popular movie science to educate, engage, and entertain the public.

Reel Science uses popular science-based movies to provide the Galveston community with an opportunity to determine what aspects of movies are “real” and which are closer to science fiction. This series also permits us to address current scientific events and issues as they arise, further enhancing the relevancy of Reel Science for the community.

The next Reel Science is less than two weeks away! The topic is addiction and recovery, with the movie Everything Must Go. We will be at The Strand Theater and will provide refreshments on a first come, first serve basis. Special thanks to UTMB's Center for Addiction and Recovery for their help with this event.

It's been a while...but next Reel Science is Thurs April 19! Topic is addiction and recovery, and the movie is "Everything Must Go" (with Will Ferrell, but it is not a comedy). NEW VENUE: Strand Theater. More details to follow.

Interesting read about Hollywood trying to improve their portrayal of science. Don't know how to find a job as a science consultant for Hollywood, but it sounds fun.
