Theme: Being the Change We Want to See

There’s something powerful that happens when purpose meets action—and our youth participants showed us exactly what that looks like. 💗💚

Through a youth-led community service project, these young leaders stepped forward to use their time, talents, and voices to make a meaningful impact. With creativity and compassion, they designed and created thoughtful craft items to share with local community members—spreading kindness, encouragement, and awareness.
In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, this project was more than an activity—it was a movement toward cultivating a healthy mindset, uplifting others, and reminding our community that even the smallest acts of kindness can make a lasting difference.

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® Kappa Iota Omega Chapter proudly celebrated Earth Day and Arbor Day by planting seeds of impact in our community! 💚

On Earth Day, we planted a beautiful shade tree at the Scotland Neck Rock Museum, creating a space that will provide comfort, beauty, and environmental benefits for years to come.

In honor of Arbor Day, we continued our commitment by planting a peach tree at Gaston Leadership STEM Academy, giving students a living example of growth, sustainability, and the importance of caring for our planet. 🍑🌱

Trees do so much to Enhance Our Environment—they improve air quality, provide shade, support wildlife, and create healthier, more vibrant communities. Every tree planted is a step toward a stronger, greener future.
