Student Spotlight 🌟

Izzy Girolamo first joined Geneva 2030 as an HWS tutor and over the years grew to become a true changemaker in our community. She helped support the Bilingual Education Success Action Team, created and launched Enlaces: connecting Geneva multilingual learners with bilingual HWS tutors, and later wrote and implemented a grant to expand language access efforts across Geneva.

From translation and interpretation support to welcoming, culturally responsive community events, Izzy has helped build meaningful bridges for children and families throughout Geneva. Her empathy, thoughtful leadership, and deep care for making systems more welcoming and connected have shaped every part of her work with Geneva 2030.

As she heads off to teach next year, we know her impact will continue far beyond the classroom. We’re so proud of all she’s accomplished and grateful to have been part of her journey.

Student Spotlight 🌟

Huge congratulations to Jada, whose work as Geneva 2030’s graduate assistant has added so much value to our team this year. From social media and communications to branding and organization, Jada has helped strengthen and elevate our work in countless ways. Her creativity, efficiency, attention to detail, and positive energy have made a real impact across our network.

We’re also incredibly proud to see her recognized as a student speaker for her senior celebration, such a well-deserved honor! Beyond all she brings professionally, she’s a dedicated squash player, proud puppy parent, and simply a wonderful young professional to work alongside.

Congratulations, Jada, and thank you for all you’ve contributed this year. We can’t wait to see what comes next!

It has been such an exciting year working with community partners to expand language access in Geneva! Translating, designing, and printing bilingual materials. We are also supporting interpretation needs around the community. We couldn't have done it without Wyckoff Family Foundation support.

Last week, Geneva 2030 proudly co-hosted the Festival de Primavera CARES Night, bringing together more than 200 community members for an evening of connection, celebration, and joy. Families, students, and local partners gathered to welcome the arrival of spring while honoring the rich cultural diversity that makes our community so vibrant.
The event was filled with engaging activities, meaningful conversations, and opportunities for families to connect with local organizations. It was inspiring to see so many people come together to celebrate culture, build relationships, and strengthen our shared sense of community.
Thank you to all of our partners, volunteers, and attendees who made this night such a success, we couldn’t have done it without you!

Toddler Takeover was a great morning for local families!
We were excited to welcome more than 40 children and their families to the Boys & Girls Club for a morning of fun, play, and connection. Families enjoyed hands-on activities, connected with local resources, and learned about programs available to support young children as they grow.
Many families were introduced to Toddler Time for the first time and now know about this great opportunity for young children to play and socialize. Children also had the chance to complete Get Ready to Grow developmental screenings, helping families access valuable services and support early so children are better prepared when it’s time to start school.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the event such a success. Our Birth to Kindergarten Action team is proud to work alongside community partners like the Boys & Girls Club of Geneva to support local families.

Thank you t Wayne County Community Schools for being great neighbors and bringing Get Ready to Grow our way.

If you missed Toddler Takeover this time, we hope to see you at a future event!
