Sounds like it's going to be a beautiful event! đĽ°
đ⨠Our DĂa de los Mu***os Community Dinner & Celebration is just three weeks away! â¨đ
đŻď¸ Sunday, November 2 ⢠3â7 PM
đ Glade Spring Senior Center, 110 Town Square
Join us for an evening full of color, music, and flavor as La Chancla de Glade celebrates one of the most meaningful traditions in Mexican culture â DĂa de los Mu***os, or Day of the Dead.
This day is all about honoring the lives of our loved ones who have passed, not with sadness, but with joy, memory, and connection. Families celebrate with bright marigolds, candles, music, and favorite foods â because love doesnât end when life does.
At the heart of the tradition is the ofrenda, an altar created to welcome the spirits of loved ones back for a brief visit. Itâs decorated with photos, candles, flowers, and favorite foods â things that remind us of them.
Youâre invited to bring a photo or small item to add to our community ofrenda if youâd like. Youâre welcome to take it with you when you leave, or come back for it later â we understand that many of these things are special and irreplaceable.
Even if you donât bring anything, youâre still warmly invited to come and experience the beauty of this tradition and the community around it.
Weâll be serving tamales (pork, chicken, or veggie), pozole, aguas frescas (Horchata, Jamaica, and Tamarindo), and traditional desserts like pan de mu**to and flan.
We want to give a huge, heartfelt thank you to the board at the Glade Spring Senior Center for allowing us to host this special evening in their space. It means so much to have one night where people can sit down, enjoy a meal, and really taste what La Chancla de Glade is all about. Weâre so grateful for this chance to share our food, our culture, and our love for this community.
Please help us spread the word by sharing this post â everyone is welcome to join in this beautiful evening of food, remembrance, and connection.
Mientras recordamos, tambiĂŠn celebramos.
