Have you met WRSA's newest coach yet? Let us introduce you to Tim!
Tim Berner is an educator and researcher with a near decade of instruction in writing, argument, English Language acquisition, and subjects pertaining to the ancient world. He holds a PhD, MLitt, and MA in Archaeology, Sociolinguistics, and Celtic. He has convened lectureships at the University of Nottingham, the British School of Rome, and the Musée Saint-Remi de Reims. Tim has lived primarily within the UK, France, and Germany and has additionally taught and developed curricula in Poland, Italy, Hungary, Belgium, Turkey, and Japan. Having recently returned to Chicagoland, Tim is keen to join the WRSA community and aid students across a myriad of domains to realize their goals!

It's our last week of Conversation Circle for Spring 2026. We have had great groups of enthusiastic and dedicated ELA students this semester. It has truly been a pleasure to work with them as they improve their speaking skills and gain confidence in their abilities. And we have three more sessions to go, all related to a fun topic--summer recreation!

WRSA is rolling out the red carpet for ANOTHER coach joining the team! Welcome, Brian Jacob! Brian is a lifelong educator who has an MA in English with an emphasis in writing, rhetoric, and media. Brian has taught numerous writing, literature, film, and media courses including English 1101, 1102, 1135, and 1154 at College of DuPage. He believes that writing and communication is a series of ongoing conversations that can take place anywhere that curiosity is encouraged to roam free. He is looking forward to having these kinds of conversations with the wonderfully diverse students at COD. 🙂

WRSA is excited to introduce the newest coach to join the team: Ann Stec! A former Reading Specialist and Literacy Coach, Ann joins WRSA as an Academic Assistant II and brings a deep knowledge of foundational literacy skills and application, as well as experience coaching and working alongside adult learners in academic settings. Welcome, Ann!
