CT Mechanical is hiring! Our HVAC company currently has two open positions in our Addison office.

HVAC Project Coordinator - The Project Coordinator is an entry level position that functions as a key support agent to the Project Managers overseeing HVAC construction projects. Occasional support will also be given to the Superintendents, Service Department, Field Technicians, and the team of office personnel at CT Mechanical. Daily tasks will include coordinating the project bidding process, drafting and processing subcontracts and purchase orders, upkeep of contact and other records, inputting certified payroll reports, maintaining certificates of insurance, applying for and processing contractor licenses, basic office administration and more. We will train you for this entry level position! The ideal candidate will have experience in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, Outlook & Teams. This position will require experience in or the capacity to learn additional applications such as Foundations, Salesforce and various construction related programs.

Construction Management Intern

The construction management internship positions provide students with an introduction to the road construction business. Students will work in several different departments throughout the course of the internship including: estimating, project management, field supervision, survey, quality control and trucking. Students will support each department by performing takeoffs, completing paperwork and touring different jobsites to become familiar with construction operations. As an intern you will be given the responsibilities of a full-time entry level position. We carefully match students to positions related to their academic and career goals.

Parts Runner

Receives, stores, and distributes parts, tools, equipment, and products within the shop and field. Operates computer and compiles data from vendor invoices and supporting documents to verify accuracy of billing data and inventory to ensure receipt of items ordered. Maintains shop work benches and floor to a cleanliness and safe environment.

Duties and responsibilities
• Sorts and places parts and materials on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined bin location.
• Completes a Pre-Trip inspection of any piece of equipment before use. (Forklift, Pickup, Lawn Mower, W**d Wacker, etc.)
• Drives company vehicle to pick up and deliver parts and/or materials from shop to parts supplier, mechanic or other locations in the field.
• Loads and unloads trucks by hand or through the use of a forklift. (Must have or be able to obtain a forklift operator card)
• Inspects and maintains stock levels, waste, and supplies such as oil, grease, rags, paper towels, etc.
• Keeps all bays and workstations clean and cleans up behind mechanics and disposes of waste oil.
• Keeps in communication with mechanics in the shop to meet their needs for parts, garbage cleanup, parts requests, etc.
• Replenishes supplies daily, keeps common areas clean.
• Removes snow around shop and yard.
• Checks all l**e levels and inspects trucks, forklifts and any equipment prior to use.
• Maintains a detailed daily times sheet of jobs completed.
• Preform physical inventory counts and light computer entries.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, suppliers, manufacturers, mechanics and field personnel.
• Ability to do minor math computations.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.

Working conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to a heavy shop environment.

Physical requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Duties and responsibilities
• Gain familiarity with plans, specifications and scope of each project managed.
• Calculate take off from plans.
• Create proposals.
• Contribute in pre-construction planning.
• Perform project site visits.
• Work with Quality control and Survey departments.
• Assemble and process project documents.
• Place material orders and other daily communications.

Qualifications
• Students must be enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering or Construction Management program
• Ability to work on multiple projects at one time.
• Must be a self-starter, willing to do what it takes to get the job done.
• Good attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
• Strong leadership skills; ability to develop and motivate a project team.
• Highly organized: can handle multiple projects concurrently; demonstrates proficiency in planning needs assessment and communication of both.
• Knowledgeable of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Must possess strong organizational and time management skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Working conditions
The working conditions for this job entail a combination of working in an office setting and working in the field. Offsite jobsite visits include working outdoors in various weather conditions including extreme heat. May require evening and weekend work on a regular basis.

Physical requirementsIncumbent is required to sit and stand for extended periods of time, as well as operate a motor vehicle. Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.

§ Completion of entry level construction management courses
