Through a partnership between COD Athletics, COD Cares and the Aurora Lions Club, more than 300 pairs of used athletic shoes were collected and donated to be repurposed into athletic surfaces and carpet backing rather than ending up in a landfill.

Special thanks to COD Editorial Assistant Leo Boshardy, who helped coordinate the effort and packed 20 bags of shoes for delivery to Aurora Lions Club President Brown.

In addition, COD's Ophthalmic Technician program and HOSA Club collected 50 pairs of usable eyeglasses for donation through the Lions Club.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to these efforts, helping make a positive impact on our community and the environment.
