GCC Film, Television & Media Arts Department

GCC Film, Television & Media Arts Department We focus on preparing students to successfully enter the film and television industry or to transfer to a four-year program in cinema and television arts.

The Media Arts Department offers the opportunity for students to learn visual storytelling through hands-on experience in producing, directing, cinematography, production design, sound production, and digital editing. Students learn to work in production teams that model the workflow of professional film and television production. Students create their own film and video content and have access to

the latest technologies in film and television production. The Media Arts facilities also include a studio that is equipped for live multi-camera production. Our courses teach both on-location single camera video production as well as live TV studio production. Our labs are located in San Gabriel 328 and Health Science 124. They are open five days and week to any student currently enrolled in a course in the Visual and Performing Arts Division. Our labs provide the latest platforms necessary to create visual content including Adobe Premiere Pro CC, Avid Media Composer, Final Cut Pro X, Pro Tools, Photoshop, After Affects, Final Draft, and Movie Magic Scheduling and Budgeting.
