Next up in the Citrus Gallery!
On a Shoestring: Selections from the Enrique Serrato Collection
September 22, 2026- March 3, 2027

In celebration of Latino/a/e Heritage Month, Citrus Visual Arts, in collaboration with the family of the late local art collector Enrique Serrato, presents a selection from his vast and eclectic collection. This show features works primarily by Los Angeles-based Chicano artists, and honors Serrato's passion for collecting and supporting the arts.
Join us for the opening reception on September 23rd from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm in the Gallery (VA 120).

Additionally there will be a Speaker Program on Tuesday, September 29th from 11:45 am to 1:15 pm in VA 130. The event is FREE!
Citrus Art Historian Lori Rusch will discuss what it means to be a collector of art (Serrato collected 6-7,000 pieces over his lifetime). Past Citrus student and current Citrus Ceramics instructor at CSArts Rey Mora will show selections of his work in the Serrato collection. He will discuss his friendship with the collector, as well as Serrato’s connection to the Chicano art scene of Los Angeles.

Capping off this trip of a lifetime, the Emerging Theatre Technologies🛠 students got a backstage tour of the technology and production behind the Royal Tattoo, which included a private view of the pipe and drums warming up (walking right through their rehearsal in fact). The tour guide, Carmie, was incredible and showed them all the backstage secrets. They even met the Creative Director. Thank you to the The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo for such a wonderful experience!

Today went to support .college family, in her debut in and spent time talking with some of the cast and crew of the show. Sarah directed Cinderella at Citrus several years back and is the daughter of the former director of the Haugh Performing Arts Center. The musical was created to create awareness around women’s health issues. It was funny, well performed and impactful. Thanks for sharing your experiences with us!

Today was an all day bus tour to the Highlands, but really ETT saw much of the rest of Scotland. They visited the Highlands Coos (hairy cows), saw incredible scenery, took a boat tour in Loch Ness (no sight of Nessie 🥺), visited Urquhart Castle, Glen Coe, the three sisters, Stirling and the Kelpi. And did you see those stairs they had to climb? What a day!
