An inspiring testimonial from Amanda Kato Bang: "If you have the opportunity to go abroad, TAKE IT! I’m currently finishing my semester abroad in Barcelona, Spain and I can truly say this has been simultaneously the most rewarding and challenging 5 months of my life. All my courses are taught in Spanish, and I also have an internship where I facilitate conversation groups for university students learning English. The most interesting class I’m taking here at the University of Barcelona is a psychology course with the title translating to "Development in Adolescence, Maturity, and Old Age". There is no equivalent for this course at UCSB, and so I was thrilled to have the chance to take it here! This semester I’ve improved immensely in my language abilities, and traveling has made me more independent, braver, and more curious about the world. Being abroad is an emotional roller coaster that has opened my eyes to the world and caused me to think critically about my values and my future—I’ve never once doubted that I made the right choice in coming."
