Happy New Year to all of our clients!

2025 was wonderful. I was able to add several new clients and the weather cooperated to get everyone sheared in a timely fashion. I did have a few that had to be pushed into mid summer but those just found our services late into the season.
I will again cover the same area. South Louisiana and most of Mississippi. From Lake Charles and Deridder, La across to Wiggins and Hattisburg, Ms as far north as Oxford and Batesville,Ms.
It’s a large area but I hope for good weather, a strong back and clean shearing sheep.
Please feel free to comment or inquire about service and pricing.
I will not begin scheduling until late February and hope to start shearing early March.

Scheduling has begun for the 2025 season. I hope to again cover most of Louisiana and Mississippi.

This season will begin my 30th year shearing. Last year my son and I combined to shear sheep in the Deep South and a small handful of camelids. We shear for small hobby farms, large club lamb operations, university’s and even a Zoo. Never would I have imagined to not only still be shearing but there be such a demand for this craft!

With that I’m doing something a little different and posting publicly my rates.

1-4 $25/head
5-10 $20/head
11-20 $17.50/head
21-40 $15/head
Over 41 $10/head

Travel based from Gonzales,Louisiana
Less than 100 miles $75
Between 100- 200 miles $100
Over 200 miles $150

Generator fee:$25

Sheep must be:
penned(20’X20’ pen optimal)
dry(24hr without rain)
and easily accessible with shade.

As in typical fashion the end show season marks time to start scheduling shearing. Based off of last years trip I have plans to cover an area from the LA/TX boarder to Hattisburg, MS. Then north from Starksville MS across to Alexandria, La. Basically most of Louisiana and north central Mississippi on south. I have 30 years experience and can provide references if needed. Send me a message, comment or text me if you have my number. I’d like to start early March so anyone wanting to get an early start I’d be glad to accommodate.

Now that our kids are wrapping up show season it’s time to start scheduling shearing. We have had a few requests to venture eastward into Florida but will have to gauge the demand. Based off of last years trip I have plans to cover an area from the LA/TX boarder to just past mobile Alabama. Then north from Starksville MS across to Shreveport La. Basically all of Louisiana and north central Mississippi on south. I have 30 years experience and can provide references if needed.

Happy to have started the 2021 season shearing for LSU Baton Rouge central station. Even more happy that we’ve started training my replacement. Hayden is 13 and officially has his first 5 sheep shorn. Hopefully he’s got plenty of time to get the pattern mastered before I officially retire.

Happy new year to all of our shearing friends. I’ve already been contacted by a few to setup our 2021 shearing trips. I imagine it will be another long season stretching from mid March all the way through early June. The coverage area will remain mostly unchanged except plans to go more westward into sulfur and Deridder areas. Feel free to text me 2255711766 or message me with any questions.
We don’t do just sheep. I’ll shear llama and alpacas as well

What an incredible start to the season. While maintaining ours social distances, we have managed to shear 198 head and hoof trim over two dozen in 5 days for 9 clients. Largest flock was 47. The kids traveled along and got some practice at throwing sheep for their old man. The future shearers are well on there way to claiming the family business.
Oh yea and got some crawfish today from one of the farmers to treat my workers.
