A time to rejuvenate, reassess, and reconnect! We came together to sing, dance, handled sorority's business, and enjoyed bonding through building charm bracelets with meaningful social moments filled us with laughter, creating unforgettable memories.

We truly had an amazing time! And of course… we can’t forget the highlight—the FOOD was absolutely DELICIOUS!

A special thank you to the Standards Committee, Sisterly Relations Committee, Foundation Board President, International Program Committee Chairman and Charms by Mia for putting together a fantastic chapter retreat. Your hard work and dedication made it a wonderful experience for us all!

The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Department Summer Camp did not disappoint!

Members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.®, Phi Sigma Omega Chapter had an amazing time volunteering while also enjoying the camp experience. From morning exercise, engaging workshops to fun activities and meaningful connections with the campers, every moment was filled with joy and purpose.

We came to serve, but we left with an even greater sense of belonging. A heartfelt thank you to Ms. Wanda August for always inviting us to be a part of your impactful programs. We truly appreciate the opportunity to serve our community together.

Always Serving the Community!

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us for our Annual Alzheimer’s Awareness Line Dancing Event. Your participation, energy, and support helped make this event a tremendous success while bringing awareness to a cause that touches so many lives.

A special thank you to Ms. SusieQ for always supporting our sorority’s initiatives. We also extend our sincere appreciation to the St. John Parish Government/Recreation Department, Kendra Johnson, and Shalonda Walker, Foundation Board President, for the wonderful door prizes. Thanks to the chapter volunteers and members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, Phi Sigma Omega Chapter’s Empower Our Family Committee for providing healthy snacks.

We are especially grateful for the generous donations received, totaling more than $1,000 in support of Alzheimer’s awareness.

Our Purple Hearts go out to everyone who helped make a difference. Together, we continue to serve our community with purpose and compassion.💜

The St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office hosted its 3rd Annual Back-to-School Giveaway, and members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Phi Sigma Omega Chapter were delighted to provide personal care items to local teenagers. A special thank you to State Representative Ken Brass for sponsoring the Bro Packs for the young men. We sincerely appreciate his generosity and commitment to supporting our youth and community!

The Greater Baton Rouge Advocate for Social Justice Committee was out in the community informing and reminding residents about voter education, voter registration, and the importance of casting their votes.
A total of 300 voter reminder cards were distributed to local residents, while new voters were also assisted with registering using their personal cell devices. It was a great opportunity to connect with the community and encourage civic engagement!

It is always a pleasure to support our school family! The Family Engagement Literacy Event at Duplessis Primary School was a success, with 16 students and 25 adult family members in attendance.

As part of our Empower Our Families initiative, two families each received a $25 Walmart gift card. Thank you to everyone for your continued support in making this event meaningful and impactful! 💕📚
